Congratulations to Gretchen and Alex Walsh, sisters, who both broke NAG records at the 2018 Southern Premier meet.
Gretchen Walsh who has broken the 15-16 National Age Group Record in the 50 yard free. Her time of a 21.85 on Saturday at the Southern Premier meet makes her the youngest female swimmer ever to go under 22.00 in this event.
Alex Walsh broke the National Age Group Record in the 200 breaststroke on Sunday, swimming a 2:06.45, which crushed Zoe Bartel’s previous record of 2:07.73 by more than a second. Alex is now ranked the 15th fastest American and the 24th fastest all-time in this event.
Also, Ella Nelson was a double winner in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.03) and 400 IM (4:10.84). Her 400 IM time is now the 2nd-best time by a 16 & under in the country this season.
The 2018 Speedo Southern Premier meet was held at the Tracy Caulkins Competition Pool in Nashville, Tennessee March 2-4. Some of the top teams in the country traveled to Nashville to compete in this team championship meet.
